By then Beena had come to know that it was Anjali’s birthday.

“All of you join me in wishing our host Anjali aunty with a very happy birthday,” she attracted others’ attention, by clapping her hands. After wishing her with a birthday song, they all hugged her with love.

Anjali was so thrilled for having a wonderful birthday with a difference. For a moment, she forgot her husband, who was still busy in his office, and her children who were busy in their own world .

“I will never forget this birthday,” she said with tears of joy, and thanked everyone. The other women knew she actually meant it, seeing her moistened eyes and euophoric voice.

With the light music background, everyone enjoyed the food to their heart’s content. Still there was plenty left.

“All of you please take away the food to your homes. Please don’t leave it here,” announced Anjali, after packing just one packet for her husband.

All the other eleven ladies too went back home with packets of food.

When the house was empty again, Anjali put on the television and got engaged with her usual serials.

Her mobile rang, diverting her attention, she checked the clock. It was 9.48 p.m.

“Anjali, I will be reaching home in another thirty minutes time. Get ready. We will go out for dinner,” said her husband from the other side.

Anjali had no plan of going and wasting money in the restaurant again.

“You come home soon. I’ve already got the food delivered at home.“ She smirked and disconnected the phone. She didn’t want to leak out the secret while talking.

Thanks @NuggehalliPankaja for your comment. Yes, sometimes I love to write homely stories.

Thanks @Subhadeep for reading and commenting on the story. You're right. Sometimes we can find many ideas around us, or we may overhear someone talking about something interesting. We only have to observe them, and churn them out into different stories with our own imagination.
