Again, the painting's interpretation is that of the characters and it may differ from what the reader may think. Keep it up for noticing the gender technique. :-) Sharp observation...

I liked this one. I liked the gothic/ trance-like feel, the sense of claustrophobia. I don't know if it was deliberate, but I thought that the protagonist was a woman so the gender change caught my attention and I thought that was clever. When giving descriptions, I liked the places where you used the simple present tense as opposed to the present continuous and the intermingling of both did not make it very appealing, but you definitely managed to capture a lot in such a short space and hats off to you for that! I also wish there a slightly more direct relationship between the image in the painting and the narrative but maybe I just missed that. Anyway let me know what you think of my comment! I would love it if you disputed me :)
