In Conversation With Myself

by Tanuja Chatterjee
(Kolkata, India)

It's night again
My day begins
Writing notes in diaries
Sharing pleasant things.

My heart is young
Alone I stand
With the wrap of
Solitude all around.

Be my bell that announces the dawn!
Be my sun that ushers new morn!
Be my powerhouse of energy!
Be my source of all possibility!

Did you say something?
What is it I hear!
Are they just the silent whispers
Of yester years?

Whatever be
Let it be.
With you, My Heart!
I've travelled all these years.

Oh my heart, be my source of wisdom!
Oh my heart, let through me flow all compassion!
Be my strength and say to me "I'm invincible!"
Be my strength of all jubliation!

The starlit sky
The midnight chill
That burning fire
Witness everything.

You needn't try!
You needn't cry!
No one will ever
Understand a thing.

Be beside me, I need you there!
Forever reside in me, for I know you care!
Be my courage in my unremitting struggles!
Be there for me, now and forever!

Beautiful!
by: Lakshmi

Hi Tanuja,
We all need to have conversations with ourselves, sometimes. You've expressed your conversation beautifully in this poem.

Introspective
by: vimala ramu

Tanuja, it is a good introspective and optimistic poem. It is indeed good that you have such sessions with self once in a while.
