“Learning gives creativity
Creativity leads to thinking
Thinking provides Knowledge
Knowledge makes you great”

- Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

With these quotes said by our former President “Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam”, I would like to express my thoughts on today’s Education System prevailing in India. If we try to relate the above quotes to our current Education system, we will end up in a great confusion. Some will think Abdul Kalam himself studied under this Education system and turned into a very great Scientist. They are actually right. But his period was somewhat different. The actual fact is that today’s Education System entirely makes students run behind the marks.

Marks and grades alone cannot decide a child’s knowledge. Knowledge is something which can be acquired by “LEARNING”. But mark is one which is acquired by “STUDYING”. Learning is entirely different from studying. Through the method of Learning, the child can understand the exact concept and try to correlate it with the society and environment. The children will try to build their own opinion on the subject, which broadens their mind. This is called Knowledge. But the method of studying teaches the child to memorize and accept things as it is. They will not be tempted to ask what, when, why and how questions. This system doesn’t provide opportunities to develop their creativity and thinking ability. The prevailing Education system is teaching the method of studying to our children. “Knowledge is the key stone
to success”. It is the only tool for students to compete in various state and central Government exams. Without providing them what is actually needed and expecting fruit from them is useless. Only if the inputs and sufficient the output will be fruitful. When taken in our country, remarkably our state Education System should be revised immediately. The decision has been taken but steps should be taken very soon.

Once the child acquires Knowledge, he/she gains enough confidence and courage to face the society and environment. This makes them plan and decide things on their own, which is called “Management Skills”. On the whole, the Education System should teach a child how to lead their life in a peaceful manner such that each one of them contributes something to the development of the country as well as to the world. They should be taught about the Moral standards and respecting every other Individual. Education system should be revised based on our current situation in our society. A very cruel problem happening in our society nowadays is “Sexual harassment”.

Education system should be changed that it teaches every individual to respect women. However awareness about “Women Education” is spread among people, still there are people who hesitate to send girl children to school. More awareness is required for poor and tribal people. Fulfilling all the major criteria’s the new Education System and syllabus should emerge for the development of our country.
Jai Hind.

well,i want to add a point that students have no right to create answers by their own and they blindly have to follow the study materials which provide the question and answers. they are strictly forced to study them.
