Its been a long time since
I'd written verse
The thoughts of a bygone era --
Relived through letters of
Fresh ink

Its been a long time since
We traveled together; you and I
And exchanged shy glances
With smiles on the edge of our
Lips

Its been a long time since
I have re-lived those experiences
The footsteps of which
Have brought me where I am
Today

Its been a long time since
We've held our hands in unity
and spoken of the thousand rail journeys
In which you and I
Kept awake in our arms

Its been a long time since
I have re-lived what was there
And which continues to remain so

The mountains we've passed
Give us a long call
Let us go now
Back to the place
Where we belong - no where

Let's keep going, the destination
will find itself
