My Shining World

by Tanuja Chatterjee
(Kolkata, India)

I'm not satisfied with
Just a cattage below,
With a little silver
And a little gold.
With my own transformation
Humanity will shine.
I want a golden life;
That's silver lined!

I'm building a shining world
Right here where I stand;
A new bright land where
Hearts'll never grow old.
And some day yonder
I'll never more wonder;
But walk the streets that
Are full of golden lives.

Though often tempted
Tormented or tested;
I'm not discouraged
I'm freedom bound.
And in that shining world
My permanant dwelling place;
I'll shine with a brilliant life
And illuminate the times.
