The delinquent- The making of a rapist

by Priyaa Trippayar Sahasranaman
(Bangalore, Karnataka, India)

Is the society and upbringing also to be blamed?

Since he opened his eyes, the world was dark,
On his reason it made a mark,
He beheld his sire, by carnage inspired,
Accretion of darkness, in him transpired.

Black and grey, the nuances he knew,
He found his shades in them too,
Torment- the source for pleasure derived,
Cognizance of morals utterly deprived.

As time rolled, Satan rooted,
For his sins,governance muted,
How could he see a world of hues,
With no one to usher any virtues?

Today he stands before a balance,
Delinquent fiend, for voyeuristic assailance,
Is it only he to be blamed,
Or is it his rearing to be named?

Really well written
by: Parvathy

The theme of the poem is pretty good though the language is a little complicated. This poem gives a very different perspective to things as complicated as rape.
