Winter of life

by Daisy Das Baruah
(Abhayapuri, Assam,India)

When your black hair turns silver,
you realize you'r losing youth.
And it is getting white,
you know you are ageing.

When your radiant skin loses glow,
you feel desolate.
And here you discover the tiny skretches of time,
you are devastated.

There is an ache
just beneath your heartbeats-
that consumes your vitality,
and eats up your sleep.

Get ready to adieu your youth
and embrace the winter of life.
