Utopian Dystopia

by Arjoyita Roy
(Durgapur, West Bengal, India)

In utopia, all things are pristine,
A perfect world of beauty and grace,
Where life is filled with joy and the sweetest scenes,
And every soul is happy in its place.

But what if utopia is but a lie,
A mask that hides a darker truth within,
A world where freedom's voice is forced to die,
And every thought and action is a sin?

This is the dystopia that we fear,
A world of shadows and endless nights,
Where every hope is drowned in endless tears,
And love and truth are shrouded from our sight.

And yet, in this despair, there may be light,
A chance for us to rise and win the fight.
