Accepts short stories up to 4,000 words (not including the title). Poetry up to 50 lines (not including title or lines between stanzas). b) WANDERLUST The vast majority of our articles are commissioned specifically for the magazine, and written by experienced journalists, guidebook authors or travel experts. Wanderlust aims to cover all aspects of independent, semi-independent and special-interest travel. We do cover soft adventure but leave the crampons and adrenalin stuff to other magazines. Off-the-beaten-track destinations, secret corners of the world and unusual angles on well-known places are always of particular interest. Pays £220 per 1,000 published words.

c) AUTHORS PUBLISH Deadline December 14, 2015. We are currently seeking submissions of essays on the topic “How I Got My Book Published.” We want personal, practical stories about how a writer got their book published with a traditional publisher. Or, how you sold a significant amount of books as a self published author (We would need to know the exact numbers). We are seeking essays on a variety of types of books – fiction, nonfiction, children’s books, literary, academic, genre, etc. We will pay 10 cents a word for these essays, with a maximum of $65. Essays should not exceed 1,500 words. We are open to reprints, but payment will be half.
