For you, Clare

by Sneha Subramanian Kanta
(Mumbai, Maharashtra, India)

Loveliness in friendship, enchanting...

Loveliness in friendship, enchanting...

Sometimes on, sometimes off
she cannot remain away from poetry for long

The enchanting damsel sometimes and
A captain from ruins of history at other intervals

A lovely bride-to-be and a blood-clad soldier
she enacts the role of poets across horizons
and borders

She cannot be kept, she's like the wind
to be swept
from one's hands if one is not sensitive

to see what she is
a poet just born
everyday, my friend Clare.

For my dear friend Clare, named on an island from where she lives in the beautiful Ireland...

Sneha, I thought you were writing about yourself. It applies to you too as far as I am concerned. Have you sent your submission also to the Page turners' anthology?
