Serial Novel Destiny's Daughter Chapter 10 continues

by Eva Bell
(Bangalore)

Read this first - Chapter I0

During lunch Margaret asked, “Why did you inquire if a male obstetrician could work here? Do you fancy a short term here?”

“Those were just stray thoughts,” Andrew said, “Forget that I asked.”

“On the contrary, I’ve been thinking. Barring Obstetrics and the labour ward, there is a lot of work that can be done in Gynaecology. And believe me, though it might sound paradoxical, a male surgeon would actually be venerated. Anything that happens inside an operation theatre is nothing short of a miracle. ‘No entry into the labour ward, but do your best inside the theatre.’ It is the great rural hypocrisy.”

Now it was Andrew’s turn to laugh.
“No, no I can’t be tempted. I’m happy where I am. And I certainly don’t want to slog around the clock. I do love my creature comforts and my leisure. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’d like to go back to sleep. Haven’t slept a wink last night.”
