Book We Will Meet Again
Author: Tarang Sinha
Publisher: Gargi Publishers
Rating: 3/5

Love is an uncanny emotion as it is ever evolving. Falling in its trap is something one can’t control, but once under its grip, the hold on the circumstances definitely changes. ‘We Will Meet Again’ might give an impression of a happily-ever-after, but that is not all! The story is gripping, well-crafted and fabulously organized. Tarang Sinha has done justice with his debut in the world of Literature.

The story is simple: the shy and determined girl meets a handsome boy but her necessity to keep her nose to the grindstone makes her hate him. She fights her heart for as long as she can. Abhigyan is, however, more eager to accept the change. He falls for Paridhi and does not deny this fact. After a set of events, Paridhi finally decides to open the kimono and let Abhigyan know that she loves him.

With a lack of anything that evokes interest, and using words of one syllable, the author has presented a simple read on the silver platter. Probably this is one of the reasons why the book fails to appeal the mind.

The story moves at a comfortable pace; what is uncomfortable is the use of present simple tense as it makes the reading complicated. Not that the editing is a problem, but change of tense could have been better. The characterization is finely tuned and the characters are relatable to characters of movies like ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’, etc. For me, the story was predictable. The climax did sound interesting but the humdrum storyline made the story be like the cake not worth the candle.

The editing is fine; the blurb is apt. The cover is suitable but not something that would be called the best. The Portrayal of Paridhi and Abhigyan as hard-bitten people does not seem convincing. Moreover, the desire to expect an unexpected twist in the tale is not rewarded.

This book has all emotions and promises to make you smile and also make your eyes wet. But is this what we look in a good book? The answer to this question is with ourselves.

Overall, a good effort by the author.

Best wishes to the author!
