Book seller

by Sneha Subramanian Kanta
(Mumbai)

From the shackles of humanity
in the lane of the unfamiliar
he treads
carrying a tattered bag
selling books
meant for children a little smaller
than his age
he has the alphabet book, vegetable and fruits book,
animals and transportation books
among recipe books and small sized magazines for women
a stack of books he places on the
train berth
fall; while he is busy selling the others
with his quick but thin hands
I pick the books and place them back
where they were kept
the women in my compartment
wearily look on
and give me a quick glance
meanwhile; I just smile
at the little boy
holding the burden of educating
others
carrying books
atleast one of which he deserves.

Good poem
by: Meena Ramani

The poet used her feelings, emotions and compassion to write this beautiful poem. Imagination creates stories. You have to feel and experience to write a poem.

Hi Tanuja. I'm really heartened with your feedback. Like they say, poetry is all about conveying 'those emotions' through verse!

Casting off the transient ordinariness
by: Tanuja

Hi! How smoothly your words picture that moment's design! I could visualize the scene. Thanx for making me realise that we actually live our entire life in each single moment.

dazed and disoriented...
by: isabel

Dazed and disoriented I may be, but so glad to stumble upon what I missed a lot;
Your poems that I fell in love with
I found in these new maze-like settings.

Beautiful as ever, really missed reading your poem Sneha. Looking forward for more...

Sincerely,
Isabel
