Colours Talk

by Jyothi Priya Angiya
(Hyderabad,India)

He was white from within, yet wore red when he saw one
She was yellow from within, yet decided to stay still
He wanted a new thrill, so he changed at will
She wanted to be still so she wouldn’t go downhill
He changed everyday to black, green, blue and grey when he saw a way
She remained calm amidst repulse without a say
He bore the fruits and grunts of all in order to fit and fill
And as known, she remained the same as if wanting nill
Finally, he had worn everything he could except from within
And she had worn the only one she had while accepting others that could kill
God made gifts are men and women who can, like single rainbow colours reflect
Or else cast a dark shadow like a chameleon that could dangerously deflect
