In Times Like This...

by Isabel Cecilia Pascual
(Manila, Philippines)

In times like this

When the sun settled low

Amongst the curtains of clouds.

When the sky is lighted

With radiant scorching

Glow of reddish fiery flame .

I do think of a place

Not the cold west

I aspired to have....

Not the modern abode

Made of bricks

And moulded steel.

Nor closets filled with silken

Threads made into fashionable

Robes and gowns.

Or exquisitely oiled carved boxes

Filled with fabulous strands

Of colorful pearls.

But of a place where I was once

Where the breeze smelled

Of Jasmine and champak blooms.

Encircled within a warm

Embrace of my mom's

Face beaming with …

Love- just for me!

You take me home.
by: Tanuja

Have been floating along the feather canyons of your words for quite sometime now. Each of them finds a special place in my heart...and so does this one too.

Thank you...
by: isabel

Thank you Geeta, Sneha and anonymous one,

I love to sit alone and reminisce of golden times especially of childhood past spent with my dearest Nanay [mother].

If I would be asked of one wish; then I would ask for a time in my past when I was encircled in a warm loving embrace of my beloved mom.
