My Journey

by Anuradha
(Bangalore, India)

My mind is a blank canvas now!!
My soul lost its aura
My body refused to raise
I’m placed in the middle of a room with ashes around
Lamps were litten on both sides...
Someone came and tied my toe fingers together,
I resisted but in vain...
The strong smell from incense sticks spread all over
The room was clouded with great silence...
Tears filled up in everyone’s eyes,
I tried to console them but no one heard my whisper.
I cried...screamed...
No one responded...

No words left
No feelings to express
No pain. No fear
Here is the end of long journey…
A journey of endless sorrows, fear, hatred, greed and egotism...

My eternal journey begins here...
I have to move on and on...
In this lonely path...
Until I find myself.

P.S: This was the third best poem received at the Poem contest held in November 2012.
