Shivered Her Spine

by Nivedita Krishna
(Allahabad, India)

Shivered her spine,
Tears rolled down her eyes,
Her capability was confined to her smile,
Her gender defined her heights,
Ironically she was pushed aside by her,
Own breed and mind,

As her feminity broke down into lumps and piles,
Her soul mourned from behind.
Why do I symbolize a female body and a female mind…?
