Solitude

by Moumita Bhaumik
(Kolkata, West Bengal, India)

I am lost in the forest
Decades after decades I bury myself in the darkness
My night and day are all the same
The creepers cripples all over my body.
No two trees are the same.
No sound of the soundless.
A forest of cold wilderness.
One glimmering firefly comes to a hope
His golden heartbeat,
is in rhythm with mine.
His frantic play,
Draws me to a timeless realm.
The weather change,
The firefly ends.
Bringing to me one hundred years of solitude
with darkness blend.
