The Enchanted Reflection

by Zeel Patel
(Ahmedabad, India)

In a dusty old antique shop on a forgotten street, there sat an ornate, full-length mirror. It was a mirror unlike any other, with a golden frame adorned with intricate patterns of vines and roses. The shop's owner, an elderly man named Mr. Patel, had kept this mirror for years, not quite sure of its origins or its rumored enchantment.

One day, a young woman named Aneri entered the shop, her eyes drawn to the mirror's beauty. Mr. Patel explained the mirror's mysterious reputation. It was said that, on the night of a full moon, one could make a wish while gazing into the mirror, and it would come true.

Aneri, intrigued by the legend, purchased the mirror and took it to her modest apartment. She placed it in her bedroom and waited for the next full moon. When the moon was at its peak, casting an ethereal glow in the room, she stood before the mirror and closed her eyes, making her wish.

But when she opened her eyes, she was not met with her own reflection. Instead, the mirror displayed a vibrant, lush forest with trees that seemed to touch the sky. Eliza's curiosity got the better of her, and she stepped through the mirror, finding herself transported to the enchanted forest.

As she explored this magical realm, she encountered talking animals, fairies, and mystical creatures. The forest was alive with colors and wonders she had never imagined. Aneri marveled at the beauty and adventure that surrounded her.

Days turned into weeks, and Aneri's life in the enchanted forest was filled with enchantment, but she couldn't forget her home and the life she left behind. She missed her family, her friends, and the ordinary world she had known.

One night, as the full moon once again illuminated the forest, she stood before the mirror, her wish clear. She longed to return home. The mirror complied, and with a flash of light, she found herself back in her bedroom.

Aneri was grateful for her extraordinary adventure, but she knew her place was in the real world. She visited Mr. Patel's antique shop and, with a bittersweet smile, returned the mirror to its rightful place.

From that day on, the mirror remained in Mr. Patel's shop, enchanting those who dared to make a wish on a full moon. Aneri's story became a legend in the town, a testament to the power of the enchanted reflection and a reminder that even the most magical of journeys can lead you back to where you truly belong.
