I'm glad to know that my post reminded you of your childhood days, and your mamaji who introduced you to the writers world. What a wonderful thing he has done!! Those special moments are real pearls in our life, and they will remain with us forever!!! Thanks for sharing your experience.

A BEAUTIFUL SLICE OF CHILDHOOD
by: Geetashree Chatterjee

Your post reminded me of my childhood days. My mamaji was a great story teller. It was he who introduced me and my cousins to world writers like Maupassant, Alexander Dumas, etc. When he would visit us we would encircle him and coax him to tell a story. He obliged us willingly. But as soon as the climax would near he would either lit a cigarette or ask my mother to prepare a cup of tea and would not continue with the story till he finished his tea or smoking. Those few minutes of the break would be the greatest irritant of our lives. On one hand we would be dying to know what happened next and on the other also enjoy the suspense as well as my mamaji would just smile to himself and prolong the intermission endlessly.

Moving story
by: Anonymous

Hi Lakshmi
This piece brought tears to my eyes as I remembered my mother making rice balls for my sister and me and it still tastes yummy when we have it even after we have grown up. I don't think there is anything as tasty as those rice balls!!!
Thanks Lakshmi for such a beautiful piece and keep up the good works.

Yes Anonymous. Even now kids wait for such rice balls from their loving grandparents, and it's a pleasure for the grandparents to make and give them, with lots of affection, is still seen at least in some families.

Thank you Vimala for the comments.
Without the last sentence it would have gone as a fiction.
