‘Urban Ayurveda’ can be used to batten down the hatches, for it makes you aware of the science of Ayurveda. This is a self-help book that aims at making the readers aware of their bodies and applying Ayurveda to cure the ailments. But wait, it is not the medicines we are talking about here! It is the age-old traditions that will be revised through the book. It not only teaches us to change, rather modify, our lifestyle but also introduces us to several practices that can help us live healthy and hearty.

The prowess of the authoress lies in segregating the contents into right sections, beginning with the knowledge of self (understanding your body), followed by application of Ayurveda every day, every season, on working days, etc. The book offers interesting insights and compelling facts about our lifestyle and how it plays a major role in shaping our health.

The first half or three-fourths of the book explains about the evils in life like stress, ineffective time-management, lack of sleep and overwork. The last part defines some of the healthiest recipes and their benefits. Quick read and interesting content-both make this book a must have on the reading list!
