MELANCHOLY IN RAIN

The raindrops patting the rooftops,
Eagerly waiting for them, were the crops.
There was a long spell of drought,
In doubt were all farmers, throughout.
The showers came as a surprise gift for the kids,
Whose paper boat would win, was the biggest of the bids.
Mothers quickly prepared bread pakoras and tea,
That was a rainy-day ritual with a full guarantee.
The lovers shared an umbrella and walked the lane,
With a promise to meet at the same spot again.
Holding hands, together they saw their first rainbow,
A thousand emotions flooding like a volcano.
Still, there was a melancholy in the rain,
Rattling thunder carrying silent pain.
A family was waiting for their martyr son,
He came in a coffin, after the battle he had won.
His sacrifice of life was a gift to the motherland,
The rain that wept loudly, was his honoring band.
WORDS THAT MAKE ME, ME

I need words, words that are so few,
Like a million flowers and a single bee.
Words, unlike humans, never hide any emotion,
Bitter, sweet, supportive, caring, words itself are an ocean.
I need words, words that are so few,
Like a million flowers and a single bee.
Words, to express that I care,
Words to bring you in my prayer.
Words to show I am heartbroken,
Words to explain the wishes left unspoken.
Words to bring down a horrible bratty.
Words to tell the world that I am happy,
I need words, words that make me, ME,
Standing in the wind, the strong banyan tree.
RAINBOW

Colors are here, there and everywhere,
Even high in the sky look up here.
We are the tiny water drops,
Playing together with our props.
The rays of the sun create wonders,
We turn them into seven colors.
Rainbow, rainbow, we are known as rainbow,
How we are formed, now you all know.
Seven colors easily can be seen,
Red, yellow, and a lovely green.
Violet, indigo and fine blue,
The orange color of bravery is true.
Click and catch hold in your mobile,
Make videos and send them through your profile.
WORK FROM HOME

Today, everyone is familiar with lock down,
Safety measure for Covid-19’s breakdown.
Employees are guided to work from home,
Only loss i.e. they are not allowed to roam.
‘Work from home’ idea is sensible,
Everybody’s hard work and dedication is visible.
Golden chance to spend quality time with dear ones,
The mother’s kitchen provides dishes unique ones.
On weekends, home becomes picnic spots,
Playing games like ludo, carom, and tombola a lot.
Video conferences are for minutes and agendas,
Laptops are for reducing file fundass.
The practice of sanitization is very regular,
Ola la, work from home has become very popular.
