Reflections

by Maria Isabel Cecilia Pascual
(Philippines)

After a storm, comes a deafening silence...
Time to be quiet and reflect
Time to ponder how anger can be so maddening
Makes us queasy.

How fire can easily spread unnoticed...
And engulf your entire being
What's left with the aftermath
Were just useless ashes from the dying embers.

Nightmarish memories fading slowly...
As the wind blows the bitter ashes of the past
Then we question God, why He let others crushed someone else's heart?
The same perfect heart made for love and to share love to all His children.

After a brieft pause, I thought I heard Him say...
''My child, do not despair, all of these were just trials
To teach your heart how to be strong and expand
In order to spread love among your kinsmen...
The next time you see a fire, do not let it scorcht you
Instead douzed it with kindness, patience and prayers."

Loved it!!!

Hi!
You are an enchantress! The words put me in spell. You've presented the real life situation well and have concluded the poem by providing a way out! That's what makes it a great poem for me!
